多极马达还是无芯马达？驱动舵机的通常有2种马达，多极和无芯。多极马达的结构与传统马达类似，所不同的是他们有三到五个转子磁极(功效等于小型电磁铁)。

5极的马达会比3极的更精确。不过无论多少极，它们都有一个无芯马达不具备的特性，就是当马达的转子的其中两极，都处在同一个永磁铁的范围内的时候，扭力会比较小。因为两极“分享”了磁场。对于你的540马达来说，这并不是什么太大的问题，但是舵机要在受力的情况下，持续几秒的保持在同一个位置。
无芯马达并不使用如此原理的转子。 一个轻量的电线“篮子”内，装有永磁铁，作为转子。这样的设计会比铁芯的转子要转动得快很多，特别是在改变运动方向的时候。而且这种马达比极性马达有效率得多，但是产生更多的热量，而且对震动更敏感。

参数代表什么？ 扭力 Vs. 速度

舵机通常以它在无负载的情况下扫过完整的60度，所需要的秒数来表示速度；用公斤（或者盎司 Oz）表示扭力。另外，多数厂商会提供舵机在4.8伏特(4节电池)及6伏特电压(5节电池)下的参数。即使没有提供6伏下的参数，在这个电压下使用舵机也是很安全的，除非厂商有其他说法。
通常来说，你应该购买在你的预算允许内的最快的和最大扭力的舵机。厂商通常对同一宽舵机分为两个型号出售，唯一的不同是一个的齿轮比是偏重速度，另一个是偏重扭力。如果你必须作出一个选择，那选择更大扭力的吧，因为如果舵机没有足够的力量转动车轮，再快的速度也是没用的。


Airtronics / Sanwa
Airtroncis比其他厂商提供更少的数码舵机，只有3款。不过它们在某方面是不错的。 舵机使用标准尺寸的外壳及无芯马达。94758Z的0.06秒转动速度，是市面上其中一款最快的舵机(跟Futaba的S9254相当)。94755Z使用塑料和金属的齿轮的组合，其他两款是全金属的。


Futaba
提供11款数码舵机，而且产品线是最多样化的，有塑料齿、金属齿、小尺寸、标准尺寸、大尺寸，另外还有薄的标准尺寸舵机，及低重心的型号。S9254同样是最快的舵机


Hitec
Hitec的产品以价格优势而闻名。在11款产品当中，大部分是标准尺寸的，一款是迷你舵机，全部都使用金属齿。 HS-5996, HS-5997 和 HS-5998 有钛合金齿轮 (只有Hitec有)。HS-5955的333 oz.-in.扭力是最为强力的舵机之一。


JR Racing
JR的数码舵机全部是标准尺寸，金属齿，及高效率的无芯马达。DS9000T的282 oz.-in的扭力也算相当强悍


KO Propo
KO的产品线比较独特，在列表上标有“ICS”的标准的数码舵机，而标有“FET”的使用FET管增强动力技术的型号。KO还提供一系列相对便宜的全塑料齿轮舵机。有标准尺寸舵机，也有1/12用的迷你舵机，以及大舵机。所有KO的舵机都使用无芯马达
