Good day mate,

1. No, there are no differences between the carbon frames of 2004 E3 and 2009 E3.

2. You will need 8FG/12FG/12Z/14MZ radio first if you want to follow Dr.Ben's approach, these four radios have the special Futaba's eCCPM compensation software so you can adjust the mixing rate for PIT-AIL, PIT-ELE, AIL-PIT, ELE-PIT and ELE-AIL, which are very important to keep your swash level at all the times, furthermore, the linkage compensation and the speed compensation will keep your 120 swash level as the 140 does.

For more information of Dr.Ben's approach, go to Futaba USA and follow the 14mz FAQ link, the 8FG has basically the same sort of software so you can follow it as well if you have an 8FG instead.

I have 14MZ but not yet have the chance to use of these mix program function. Thanks for your suggestion and I am going to order the Freya EX+SSZ V. Should pay more effort to build up the F3C skills.
